Creating Compelling Characters

This class will work with writers to examine what makes great characters work, from motivation and desire, to conflict, defining traits, quirks, etc.  Famously successful and iconic characters from literature and cinema (think Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Han Solo, etc) will be examined to see what makes them function so well. Additionally, students should bring in a character that they are working on in their fiction to workshop how to make it stronger and more well rounded.
