How to Write a Screenplay

Do you have a great idea for a screenplay, but need guidance on how to develop it? Are you writing a screenplay, but finding that after a compelling first act, the rest is an uphill battle?

Janice Pieroni, movie industry veteran, will discuss key elements of successful screenwriting, starting with the aspect of the process that is most overlooked: devoting time to come up with a strong idea!

Other important screenwriting topics that will be addressed include: character development, story structure, dialogue, genre, themes, subplots, and motifs. In addition, Janice will touch on industry trends.

Writers will participate by working on in-class writing exercises.
