Examine the fundamentals of watercolor painting, including basic approaches to color and value. We'll start by reviewing the basic elements of composition, which you can use as a foundation for your work. Then, through a series of projects, you'll develop a sensitivity to the medium and begin to understand how to use the brush, paint, and paper to achieve the best possible results. No previous painting experience is required. Expect to spend approximately $60 on materials. Please bring following supplies to the first class: Watercolor Paint in Pale Cadmium Yellow, Rose Madder, Emerald Green, Cobalt Blue and optional a medium Cadmium Red, Ultramarine Blue. Round and pointed Sable or Sablette brushes, at least one smaller(#6/4) and one bigger (#10/12) one. 140 lb Cold Press Paper. A roll of 1 inch masking tape, a water jar, a 4B pencil and a small 8.5 x 5.5 sketch book. If you already have supplies you may bring them, even if they are different from above list.
