Chef Alex Saenz brings a lifelong love of cooking and years of culinary experience (not to mention heaps of passion and plenty of talent) to the kitchen at Keith Pooler’s BISq, an eclectic, small-plate restaurant in Inman Square, Cambridge. Hailing from Peru and growing up in South Carolina, Saenz’s love for cooking grew from a young age and has been influenced by various cultures and cuisines. Most recently, he served as Chef de Cuisine at Puritan & Company. He has also worked as Chef de Cuisine at Lineage, was the opening Executive Chef at the Provincetown outpost of Ten Tables, and has spent time in the kitchen at Straight Wharf and former Great Bay in Kenmore Square. Fresh back to the Boston area after a return to his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina, Saenz looks forward to drawing on both his love of Southern food and New England-style cooking in BISq’s kitchen.
