A bartending school grad at just 18, Tainah Soares always knew that she wanted to be in the restaurant industry. Educated beyond her years and unable to procure bartending roles at leading restaurants because of her age, Tainah’s path was not linear. After several years working the 9-5 office grind, she decided to pursue her true passion for hospitality.
Now well above the age necessary to sip and sample her handiwork, Tainah sharpened her skills at a wide array of Massachusetts restaurants ranging from All Asia Café, a small music venue and dive bar to Michael Scelfo’s award-winning Alden & Harlow. Hooked on the industry’s fast-paced nature and rewarding guest interactions, she mastered the ins and outs of bartending. By the time she took a job at Trina’s Starlite Lounge, she was ready to let her creativity shine through. Under the guidance of Josh Childs, Beau Sturm and Emma Hollander, Tainah began experimenting, allowing her spunky, irreverent personality behind the bar to blossom.
Now, Tainah leads the creative cocktail programs at both Area Four Boston and A4Cade, splitting her time equally between the two restaurants. With a focus on creating approachable, easy-drinking cocktails, she reinvents the classics, often times pulling inspiration from her Brazilian heritage. In 2018, her work at the restaurants was recognized by FSR magazine, which named Tainah one of the industry’s Rising Stars.
When she is not behind the stick, you can find her walking around Back Bay with her shih tzu, Bella.
