In this class, students will learn the art of storytelling. Students will learn how to dissect and analyze stories to understand how plot-lines are developed and identify archetypal characters. This course will examine: plot; character development; themes and motifs; voice and style.
Students will engage in this workshop by reading examples of writing on each topic and then completing writing exercise to practice each aspect of storytelling. The fundamentals in this class will apply to nonfiction, fiction, and memoir storytelling.
