The Level 3 Advanced Certificate Course is recommended for students who have earned the Level 2 Intermediate Certificate, or who have a broad knowledge of wine and have good experience in tasting. This course covers the major wine regions of the world in much more depth than the Level 2 Course, and includes more detailed study of viticulture and vinification. Lectures and discussions are supplemented with slides, videos, and in-depth tastings of more than ninety wines.
This course will enable students to describe the characteristics of the major wines and spirits of the world and to explain the key factors influencing those characteristics. It will also provide students with strong knowledge of the attributes of all of the world’s significant wine regions. The culminating exam includes multiple-choice and short-answer questions, as well as a blind tasting of 2 wines. Successful candidates will receive the Level 3 Certificate of the WSET and be able to use the term WSET Certified, which is a prerequisite for the two-year Diploma Program.
The tuition includes a complete study pack, text book, and exam fees. Some classes may be conducted by guest lecturers.
